FAQ

  • For appointments at Mount Stuart or Exeter medical please contact us using the links on this page. The team and I will be delighted to provide a full schedule of fees and availability.

NHS appointments are available via GP referral to the hand and wrist service at Torbay Hospital.

  • Many conditions of the hand and wrist can be managed using either surgical or non-surgical techniques.

This includes hand therapy, pain management, targeted injections, or an operation.

Mr Hardman will discuss which options are most appropriate for your condition and individual needs.

  • My team and I will aim to accommodate your treatment at the earliest convenience.

NHS wait times are based on clinical urgency and time from referral. We have recently expanded our team, and are working hard to keep those times as short as possible.

Private patients can request timings at their convenience, and we will always do our best to accommodate.

  • Many procedures can be offered with patients either awake or asleep, and we will discuss your preference to make a joint decision on your own care.

  • The vast majority of cases are done as a day case. This means you will have your surgery and be discharged on the same day without the need for an overnight stay in hospital.

  • Some assessments can be completed without the need for tests or further investigations.

Where investigations are required these commonly include nerve conduction studies, x-ray, or scans like CT, ultrasound or MRI.

For self-pay patients we will do our best to advise in advance what costs may be associated.

Insured patients may wish to check that their policy covers investigations.
